Here are some of the sillier poems that I wrote in CW last year. The prompts were silly, or I wasn't good at writing the specific type of poem, so I just wrote something goofy in an attempt to make it good.
Anyway, here are some of the other poems I've written:
Ashley Hincher & I were partners to write a picture poem, so if you saw how we wrote this in the shape of a pig, you'd laugh :)
UNTITLED
You're flamingo pink
with a Santa Claus tummy.
Your squiggly tail
makes you look so funny.
Your adorable oink
From a nose so runny.
At the state fair,
You're worth lots of money.
RUN AWAY
Knock, knock; who is there?
Could it be, Oh no!
The guards are coming,
Run quickly, my friend;
Before they find you!
Too late, they are here.
UNTITLED LIMERICK
Her suitor was Sir Arnold Drake
His kindness was always so fake.
She gave him a whack
(a bat to the back)
She'll see him again at his wake.
HOW I LOVE YOU (written with Sam Vorwerk... there's artwork, too! The prompt=Cheesy love poem)
I love you more than a fat kid
loves candy in a candy shop
after coming home from
FAT CAMP
And, I love you more than a wife beater
loves beating his beautiful
WIFE
And I love you more than a dog
loves chasing his own
TAIL
But most of all, I love you
the only way that I
know how, with all of my
HEART!
CHEATERS ALWAYS DIE
How could you be the one to scorn me so?
I have always planned on us together.
You were the sun keeping me from my woe,
And now we will not have our forever.
You were so bright and so lovely, my dear,
Now what you have done will always remain.
Looking up at you, all I see is fear.
As a couple, we have no more to gain.
But now you want me to become your wife?
I have pondered whether or not you know
How now I must bring an end to your life.
I am sorry, but you will have to go.
I wish you could grasp your simple mistake.
I guess we will meet again at your wake.
DEAD GRASS
Once a luscious shade of olive green
This fraction of a haystack is now
Quite an unimpressive, dull peach.
Rough all over; scratchy, elongated blades
Shrinking and dried out
Like a withering, hopeless soul
Soon to disappear into its murky surroundings
No longer effected by drops of rain
Or the morning dew
As if surrounded by a force field,
It will never be the same...
Here's a few of my haiku's...
The beauty of snow
Personifies her young soul
and reveals the truth.
The sun is setting
Into tomorrow's new day.
Will he still be here?
The sun is shining
As she leaves the place she knew,
Yet it is so cold.
The rain is falling.
Her life will change forever
On that fateful night.
BELIEVE
Our year is coming to an end;
It won't be long until we leave.
These years have gone by quickly;
Now it is time for us to believe.
Believe we can achieve greatness
If we choose to work our best.
Believe we have the ability
Don't worry about being less.
We won't always get what we want,
But we will still be okay.
As long as we do all that we can,
Things should still turn out our way.
Believe our friends will always last
Even if we don't find that true.
But most of all, you must believe,
You must always believe in you!
IS IT LOVE?
I gaze into your eyes, the perfect shade of blue.
That is when I realized, I was sure; I knew.
You are my mister right: handsome, caring, and strong.
For seventeen and twenty, we have lasted so long.
I feel I am now ready to tell you the whole truth.
I know that you love me, but I can't say "I love you, too."
I care a lot for you, so please listen to this:
We're still much too young to know what love is.
Baby, when I tell you the truth about how I feel
I want to say "I love you" and have those words be real.
I hope you understand, I just want it to be true
So you can be excited when I proclaim my love for you.
I know I feel all bubbly when I hear your name
And when you hear our song, I know you feel the same,
But does this equal love, such a powerful word?
I know one year ago, I'd have thought, "how absurd"!
When I catch myself thinking about the connection we share,
I look inside my heart and realize how much I care.
In this world, true love is rare; to say it means the world in more.
Which is why I must be sure before I open up that door.
Our relationship has blossomed, I never want it to end.
You are my one and only, you are my best friend!
Baby, please sit down; I have something to say:
"I love you, my darling, in every single way!"
That's it for poems.
I have one more essay, an epic I wrote with Nicole Cajuste, and 2 short stories... maybe I'll post those eventually, but who knows.
I'm working on some new poetry, but I'm kind of lost... ehh, I'll figure it out.
The one think I learned in Miss Vickey's class that I really want to improve on is to branch out with my works. They're all either morbid in a depressing way or in a mean way... the closest thing to "nice" I've written was my love poem for Joel (ironic that we've broken up since then?) or the "Believe" poem... ugh.
Okay, byeeee now :)
